High School Archery Instruction

Devil's Gulch Ranch can provide Level 1 and Level 2 Archery Instructors Certification for Your Staff and Leaders.

Archery Certification Courses

Level 1 Basic Archery Instructor Certification Course:

The NAA Level 1 - Basic Instructor Certification Course is designed for camp, youth organizations or other short-term program instructors. Brian King can specifically gear the instruction and materials for the needs of summer camp personnel, 4-H leaders, BSA, GSA, JOAD Instructors, or school teachers. This course is a 12-hour courses all materials and quality equipment is provided. You do not have to be an archer to take this course you must be 15 years of age or older. Areas of instruction include: Safety and Limiting Risk Exposure, Learning to Shoot a Bow and Arrow, Equipment Differences, How to Teach Archery, and How to Set-up and Run an Archery Programs. There is a nice mix of lecture, group discussion, and hands on.

   
   

Level 2 Archery Instructor Courses:

The NAA Level 2 - Instructor Certification Course is designed for preparing instructors and directors of archery programs including ACA camps, Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD), 4-H and other archery club programs. This is 30 hour certification course the students must have held a Level 1 Certification for at least a year, be 18 years of age or older, and be a member of NAA or NFAA (can enroll in either at time of instruction). This certification will allow for the certification of your own Level 1 staff. This course provides an in-depth training in archery instruction including but not limited to: Risk Management; Purchasing, Troubleshooting and Tuning Equipment; Making Arrows and Bow Strings; Troubleshooting Errors in Form, Fine-Tuning Your Own Skills as an Archer and as an Instructor; How to teach a Level 1. There is a nice mix of lecture, group discussion, and hands on.

 

  Level 3 Archery Instructor

Scheduling and Cost for NAA Archery Certification:

  • Level 1 Instructor Certification Course Date To Be Announced (8 hrs) at Devil's Gulch Ranch. Cost $150 which includes all materials. Limited camping is available.
  • Level 2 Instructors Certification Course Date To Be Announced (30 hrs) at Devil's Gulch Ranch. Cost $200 which includes all materials. Limited camping is available.

We have facilities that we currently use in Marin Counties or we can travel to your location.

Youth Archery Programs with Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD)

The JOAD Program provides archery instruction and competition for young archers across the country and in foreign countries. Through the JOAD Olympian Awards program, these archers can earn incentives as they develop and improve their scores up the ranks of Yeoman, Jr. Bowman, Bowman, Junior Archer, Archer, Master Archer, Expert Archer, Olympian, Silver Olympian and Gold Olympian.

From beginners to Gold Olympians, thousands of young archers learn the fun and excitement of archery in more than 250 JOAD Clubs annually.  The NAA also provides continuity for JOAD archers to participate in the sport beyond the age of eighteen through college and local club programs.

Archery in Marin at Devil's Gulch Ranch

Devil's Gulch Ranch is registering students for after school or Saturday archery program. Participants will qualify to compete in JOAD/NAA archery tournaments.

Archery at your location in Marin, Napa, or Sonoma Counties.

We can provide qualified achery instruction and all archery equipment for youth archery instruction from 1 to 12 archers at your location. If you have a 4H club, church group, homeschooling group, etc. and want to offer archery we can provide short or long term archery programs at your site.
